Antonella Serafini

M.D. Antonella Serafini got her degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Genoa (Italy) in 1984. She is Specialist in ‘Internal Medicine’ and in ‘Diseases of the Respiratory Apparatus’. She is working since 1988 in the Pulmonology Department of Imperia Hospital (Italy). She is a long term member of the ITS-AIPO (Italian Thoracic Society). In the Society she has been Chair of the Educational Group from 2011 to 2013 and of the Educational, Prevention and Epidemiology Group from 2013 to 2015. She has been member of the Directorate from 2016 to 2017. From 2018 onwards she is Coordinator of the School of Permanent Training in Pulmonology of ITS-AIPO. She is as well Representative of ITS-AIPO and Coordinator of the Technical Table focused on Palliative Care in which she sits together with the representatives of ARIR (Association of Rehabilitators of Respiratory Failure) and SIMRI (Italian Society for the Pediatric Respiratory Diseases). The mission of this Table is to promote training on Palliative Care, from early-stage to end-of-life, in the Chronic evolutionary respiratory diseases (either neoplastic or not: COPD, IPF, Neuromuscolar diseases) non responsive to dedicate treatments, both pharmacological and non-pharmacological.
