Primarily, Alexandra had been working as a nurse in different areas of palliative care. Later on, during medical school she got involved with the German Medical Students Association (bvmd).  As a member of this association she was supporting the process of implementation of palliative medicine as a mandatory subject in medical education. At the moment, Alexandra is a resident in internal medicine and oncology in Wesel, Germany. Under the patronage of the German Association for Palliative Medicine we established a working group on the development of palliative medicine as a specialty for physicians.
